I had no problem touring for days at a time on my Heritage. I switched to a Road King for other reasons. That being said, whenever we can afford to add another bike to the garage, it will almost certainly be a Softail, probably another Heritage. If we can only have one bike....I'd stick with my Road King.

Thought about buying a Softail Delux cause I liked the look better than the RK, but, I needed room to haul stuff to work, Answer: RKC. I've had lots of scoots, but, never ridden a Softail. Can someone define what about softails is so much less comfortable to ride? Somehow I don't think a 20 minute demo ride at the dealership could supply the same impression as a long term owner/operator could. Thanks

I've thought about it several times. I almost got 1 before I settled on the Ugly Glide. But the Road Glide won out.. If they didn't have the counter balanced engine and didn't vibrate more as the speed increases maybe. Would be a nice addition to but wont replace the bagger. Go ride 1 for a while and decide for yourself.

No way, no how.

As others have already said...maybe as a second, but certainly not as the primary scoot in my stable. But if I'm gonna have a second bike at all it would likely be a sport bike...Busa or ZX14. If not that then at least a sport tourer. I have the ultimate cruiser IMHO. No need for a Softail.

I love my bike. I don't tour.

My next bike will be a Street Glide or Ultra Classic and I still won't tour.

If they ever but the balanced motor in the touring models it would make that a no brainer. IMO I do dig the look of a Softail Deluxe though.
