Default Good day...getting the ultra back

I went down on August 3. I walked away but the bike was all but totaled. Anyway, after 3 months i'm picking her up today. Just kick the leg over right? any advice to getting back on?
Thanks you & wish me luck!

Ride safe!

Congrats on getting her back, glad you're ok. Go for a nice easy ride on your favorite road and make sure the bike is running ok. Then find an empty parking lot, and practice your emergency braking. I recommend doing that once a month to keep in practice.

Ooh, doin' the ride on
Uhh, uhh, doin' the ride on
Put a hump in your back
Shake your sacroiliac
And ride on

I second what b-bob said. Go for a slow easy ride on your favorite road and then find a big empty parking lot to do figure eights, stops and starts, and a few decreasing radius circles. Basically anything that will get you over being nervous about getting back on. I found it took me almost a month of daily riding to get over the nerves after my accident. When I first got back on my scoot I was jumpier than a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Had to keep reminding myself to breathe and not death grip the handlebars.

Glad to hear you're getting back in the saddle. Be careful and have fun!

Glad You are all right, and now the bike will be too. Just enjoy the ride, put on some tunes, and let the wind do the rest. It'll come back to you before you know it... Enjoy.

Yep, just throw your leg over your baby and ride.
Although slow and easy for awhile.
The parking lot is a great idea, or Honda of America has a refresher course in which you get to use your own bike instead if the litte 500cc hondas.
This is a good idea for anyone...

Thanks, guys...for the advice! The old wise man (my father) and I went out for a short ride. I'm glad he was there to talk to me over the cb. He was lead & I didn't really have to even guess where his first place of business was. I made it through that curve this time! My nerves are getting better w/ his help & support.
Ride safe!
