I have a Electra Glide Classic which does not have cruise. I broke my wrist several years ago and my hand starts to go numb after a couple of hours. I asked the service department who did my 10,000 mile service how much to install one and it came to $540. I looked on ebay and I can buy one there for around $100 and do it myself. But there are several different kinds listed. How do I get the one that will match my radio/turn signal controls.

$540??? Damn. I was going to get one at the end of the year...looks like I will be doing that install myself. That seems like highway robbery to me.
I did what you are contemplating back in the summer. Get the part number from the Harley dealer or the Harley catalog. And then make sure purchase one with that exact part number. The installation is relatively easy. It took me about 6 hours but I could do the next one in less than two.
To avoid breaking your wrist in the future, order your draft beer in smaller glasses.
I don't see any CC for '08s on Ebay costing only $100, but Zanotti's sells the HD CC (77196-08) for only $187 plus shipping. That's a bargain, and although you can install it yourself you'll have to take the bike to the dealer to have it "turned on" by their dealer software. Earlier bikes do not require this step, but cost quite a bit more since the servo is not already installed on the bike like newer bikes with TBW.
I paid $220 for a NIB CC and installed it myself in under 2 hours. You will have to have the dealer service department enable it thru the Digital Technician. Mine didn't charge me anything for it. Great group of guys (and gals)!
I just installed the HD Cruise Control Kit PN:77196-08 on my 08 SG. It's a plug & play install, unless you run the wire internally. Cost just over $200 delivered form Chicago HD. The dealer changed 1/2 hour labor to activate it.
