1)I looked up the MOCO's tourpac for the RG, don't like it, where did you get yours? Is it an Ultra tourpac and what mods did you have to make to get it on?

All HD tour paks are the same, in that they fit all touring bikes (i.e. Ultra tour pak will fit a RG you will have to do some wiring)

2)Where and who did you get the rear speakers for you RG? y

ou can get factory, dragonfly, and I think hogtunes speakers for the tour pak (check ebay for a complete Ultra tour pak)

3)doesn't look like there is much clearance between the fairing and the lowers any problems with that and any adjustments/modifications to make that happen?

Road Glide fairings do not move, clearance is not an issue

4)do you have the intercom/CB hookup on yours? If so how much trouble was that to add?[/QUOTE]

this I can't answer

Thanks a bunch for taking the time answering a couple of my questions. I have seen here RG owners who've said they have the CB/intercom. Wonder if its factory(preferred) or after market?

The RG has peaked my curiosity and not one to jump into anything on emotions only I looked at it from a point of view of what did I like about my Ultra that the RG didn't have. I believe an RG with a tourpac,Lowers, and CB/intercom, I may just be in touring heaven. I am all about the touring and the reliability one hopes for being 1000's of miles from home and most times in the middle of NFW.

The clearance between the lowers and the fairing appears nano 1/8ths minimum. I understand the fairing was fixed just curious about vibrations and if that factor was an impact?

Again thanks a bunch.

Looks like all of your questions have been answered. As far as cb/intercom, go to this thread: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...arts-list.html
It will tell you what is needed to as far as parts and cost in US currency. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Newbie here,

I've got an orange 09 on order, supposed to be here in April. Canadian prices just went up over 2k yesterday but I couldn't imagine a bike I'd rather buy so I guess it's que sera sera. Dealer says price may even rise again by spring, fingers crossed I guess. Being a HOG member I've helped out at the test rides locally for the last few years and have had the chance to ride the rg quite a bit. It is really the best riding bike Harley makes and it never fails to put a smile on my face. All the hype about the street glide and the softails is just that. If your idea of a tour includes all the coffee shops in your area then by all means pick your ride based on appearance and then spend all your spare cash on chrome and neon lights and stuff (not that there's anything wrong with that). But if you're the type who wants to see if the steaks really are better in Texas, and you live in Canada, you're my kinda rider and you've probably already got a roadie All hail the ugly duckling, long live the secret society

went out to the garage and checked out the lowers and fairing it's about a quarter inch clearance there, looking at it from a short distance it looks as if they are rubbing but it's an illusion

I use the J&M handlebar unit... you can get it with an intercom included, but I didn't need one. Radio, antenna, and headset, for solo use totaled about $400, I installed it in about one hour...but this is my third unit (3 bikes)

here a picture of it mounted on the bike

I picked up an 06 RG with 1570 miles 2 months ago and really like it so far, but winter has set in here, so now the fun begins. The only thinks it had was a detachable king tour pac, and fairing lowers. I've put the 09 SE RG headlight bezel and windshield on for starters. I'm in the big debate with which exhaust I want to run, and which speakers to use. The only thing I can see as a problem is the fairing lowers once it gets passed 60 degrees outside, and when it does they will come off.

Why would your lowers need to come off? They have them on the Ultra's year round don't they? I know with soft lowers, you do need to remove them above 50F but I think the hard HD factory lowers allow the motor to get air?

Cherry bike by the way with such low mileage. Spooky looking dogs too with their eye's all aglow..

(There'a at least four dogs, maybe five if you start looking for sets of glowing eyes..)
