Default Labor charge for inner fairing swap?

My dealer is offering 30% off parts on the 18th. and I am going to order a painted inner fairing. The want to charge me 6 hours labor which would be $300. That sounds like alot of time to me. If you had your dealer do this what did they charge for labor? Thanks

30% is a great deal...it should be 4 hrs IMHO I did mine it wasn't bad...there is always draw backs to doing it yourself like maybe a scratch that you did not plan on, and you know how valuable your time is. Good luck you will love it.

You're screwing yourself!
You can get a takeoff from Ebay for about $100 bucks.
Have your painter shoot it for about $150.
Sell your stock inner on Ebay for about $100.
Buy yourself a service manual for $58.
Do it yourself!

Don't forget to paint the switch cap!
You can pick that part up new from your dealer for around $18 bucks.

They're gonna bust you for about $650, total?

Mine is at the painter now(not riding weather here in NE Ohio) took me a little time to get it off but I just used masking tape and a pencil to mark everything. He's painting it for $75 and I should have it back on the bike next weekend.

EXACTLY!!!!! $650.00 Ouch!!!

That is what I did an was not difficult. Just protect the front fender from dropping screw drivers. And you learn alot about the bike along the way.

I was quoted 4 hours at my local stealer. Talked to the service manager and got him down to 2 hours. Pick it up next weekend.
