I got some cold weather riding in over the weekend myself. Left Friday morning for Columbus OH with temps in the lower 20's. Not much warmer @ the end of the ride. Went to babysit the grandbaby. Came back on Saturday leaving about the same time but it had warmed up enough to rain the last 60 miles. Temps started out about 20 again for Saturday and was 37 when the rain started. Had fun watching the baby.

I rode yesterday and today, also in Columbus. Kinda cold yesterday, and nicer, but rainy today.

I just CANNOT put bike away for winter, so I have invested in the things necessary to ride at 32 degrees and above. All heated gear. Soft lowers. Fairing air deflector.

Besides heated liners, gloves and socks... I have a full face helmet, two balaclavas, a stretchy over face thingy, tourmaster pants and jacket.

Lastly, under armour.

So, I can go with jeans and leathers, using heated gear, to full out cold riding.

Bike is OK with this, too. I will always ride, in the cold, long enough to make everything nice and hot. 50 miles or better. That should limit sludge build up in oil, as the moisture is burned totally off. I DO have a shorter oil change schedule for winter.

Now....I just need roads in decent enough shape to not get killed.

So far.........I have went about 2 weeks without riding. My limit is maybe 3 weeks?
