Unhappy Overheated Road King
I have a 1998 Road King the overheat while idling. The bike quit running, and I could smell burnt oil. The motor was extremely hot, and even after it cooled, it would not crank. What do I can I do to fix? Please help

How long was it idling and what was the temp on that day.

It idled for about 1 hour. The Temp outside was about 48. The motor and gas tank were extremely hot to the touch. Let it cool completely off, but it would not crank after it cooled. Think I messed something up, but hope not.

Does it have oil in it? Does it turn over when you try to start it? If it turns over, the problem may be minor. If the engine is "frozen", ouch, serious.

Was letting it run, my son hurt himself so I had to take care of him. The motor will turn over, has plenty of oil, sound like there is no fire though. Pulled the plugs, they look like they could be replaced. Was wondering if there was anything else I needed to check, test or do?

It doesn't to me.....If it won't "crank" it won't turn over. In his case, it sounds like it will "crank" but won't "fire".
