Default Tour Pak luggage rack install

New to the site, and still trying to find my way around. I'm sure this has been talked about before, but I have an 05 E-Glide Classic and I want to put a luggage rack on my tour pak. How hard/complicated is it to do?
Thanks

easy comes with a template. important thing is to make sure you are centered. after i drilled the holes in the lid i put clear RTV on each bolt before i tightened em down. just to ensure no leakage. other than that pretty easy.

Use some masking tape or painters tape where you drill. start the holes off small and double check before you make them the correct size.

Did mine on sunday. I took the tour pak lid off and did everything on the workbench. Made it easier to measure and center the rack. If you've got the rack with the LED light, install the light before mounting the rack on the tour pak. It all took about an two hours, but I took my time and measured everything twice.

Agree with tape and measurements - Just take your time and make sure it is exactly where you want it - Another thing to think about - And like everything else on a Harley, use Loctite.
Good luck -

did my own, pretty easy, just measure a couple of times and double check your placement before you drill. that first hole is scary! lol. But its easy.

Did you all use the HD carrier or are the aftermarket units acceptible?

Was gonna mount a rack but the dealer said I shouldn't overload the tour-pak because it could crack.

I also mounted the rack on mine myself, its easy. As said a couple times, measure twice (make your marks on tape), drill pilot holes, then drill the correct size. I got mine mostly to hold light items on trips and for picking up the occasional case of beer (fits perfect) for my buddies and me while camping. Good luck and take your time.
