Everything sold in Home Depot comes from China. You can keep your $12. torx sockets.

A qauality 3/8 inch drive set is the way to go......I can't see using cheap tools on my bike....I have the Craftsman set and have never had a problem.....using a torque wrench isn't a bad idea either....I have an extended length driver that works great for me......

Reminds me very little of the time I bought some chinese made titanium drill bits. Used one on a 32 Ford frame and it swtisted into a pretzel.
The frame or the drill bit? Sorry couldn't resist.

Trust me, you need torx plus bits, not standard torx.
The torx plus has a a flatter edge on the sides than that of the regular torx. I will try to get some close up pics of the difference & post them tomorrow.

Default OK you torx experts

How do you remove a torx head that shears off in the bolt? I have broken a craftsman torx head (tx40) off in the engine guard mounting bolt. How do I get it out?

Try to take a sharp punch (chisel) and try to break it. They are tempered very hard and they will shatter into pieces and come out. Good luck!
