If you want to be honest on the survey and are scared they may think badly of you then take a look at the back of the survey and down at the bottom will be a number, take a black pen and scratch out that # so they can't read it. Even though your name isn't on the survey that # is tied back to you and the dealer gets the results and will know who sent it in. I know this because I used to work at a HD dealership and we got the results from these surveys.

As for the cleaning I too wouldn't really get too bent out of shape about that. They normally have a minimum wage guy that takes care of that and you can't expect a professional detailing job from the dealership. I never let them wash my bike if it goes to the shop. I'm picky and would rather do it right myself. You never know if the water is changed in the bucket or if the rag is actually cleaned between washes etc.

Fill it out honestly and send it in if you want. Water spots on the rims sounds minor to me
and shouldn't hurt anything.

If your picky about your bike I wouldn't say anything. They might offer to rewash it and damage something. Nobody will ever clean it to your satisfaction
Besides you will clean it many times, what is one more.
I clean mine up within the first few days. Its a good chance to check for real problems.

If they're like my dealer, you should be glad they DIDN'T clean it. I tell them I'll pass on what they refer to as "cleaning" when I have work done. The only time I didn't say anything when I dropped it off it looked like they'd wiped it down with a dirty rag full of sand!! It took me a week to get the scratches worked out. Be glad!! As for the survey, I'd throw it in the trash. It doesn't make them do any better.

I would fill out the survey and call the salesman, its quite possible he is unaware of the problem. Its almost like giving the salesman a bad review because of the service department. Just my $0.02

This is a direct reflection on the salesman. Rather then have him read a survey, which in my opinion is reviewing history, give him a call so he can be proactive and I'm sure if he's a conscientious salesman and cares about his customers he'll make sure it's taken care of to your complete satisfaction. If he doesn't then zing him and the dealer with the survey.

I am surprised to see how many here say their local dealers do a poor job of cleaning the bikes. I have used three dealers in my area for service. One does a good job of washing only, the other two do a great detail on every bike that comes through their shop at no extra charge.

I guess I am lucky.
