J&S owners - Has anyone not had trouble with the hydraulic bottle leaking up to and/or after 2yr of purchase?
Seems to be a common problem. Speaking to J&S, they say that's the only part they don't make, it's imported from China. They'll replace it for the 1st 2yr after purchase. After that they're $18 each.
That's a red flag to me, especially if 50% + of us have this problem. Even after 2yr, this shouldn't be an ongoing issue.
I'm not going to ask if one's better than the other, both are great according to this forum. It's difficult though telling which I'd prefer by looking at pics and fair descriptives on the sites. I'm asking if one has advantages in a given area over the other, and visa-versa.
I'll have to call Pitbull to ask them the differences between the manual and air, the dyna and standard. I'm looking forward to that but will still wonder according to the practical way we looks at things, what might be the advantages of one over the other...?
I've searched on lifts and appologize for yet another thread, but I don't see much regarding a comparison. BTW, I "fixed" the Sears yellow jack that almost crashed my bike but I can't bring myself to trust it .
Tkx!!
I have a pit bull and it has worked great. never strap the bike down (08 Ultra - 03 RK ) and now have their optional turn table which makes it much easier to clean the air filter side of the bike. this is one well designed and built lift. my bike cost way to much to trust it on a cheap inport lift. ted
LP, MY POST STATED ya USUALLY get what you pay NOT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR,THIS IS ABOUT THE 3RD TIME YA FOLLOWED UP ON ONE OF MY POSTS WITH A NEGATIVE COMMENT. LEARN HOW TO READ BEFORE YOU COMMENT, NOBODY IS ASKING YOU FOR YOUR PSYCOLOGY OPINIONS, THE THREAD WAS ABOUT PITBULL JACKS AND J&S. your comments had nothing to do with neither and were totally idiotic!!, to add a lil value to the thread I even added a pic. of my pitbull jack.
lol. Guilty. I must admit I like messing with you. My bad.
Yeah, I've about made my decision too. Pitbull. My only "fear" is the 4.5" clearance. My RKC measures right at 4.5".
1 - I'll assume I'll have to pull the bike a tad towards me to get the legs underneath?
2 - I'm also interested in the turntable. That'll be even a higher Putbull. Anyone know how much?
3 - Will the Pitbull conflict with the Wheeldock?
Nothing's perfect and I wouldn't expect it. In my mind we've got the hydraulic bottle issue vs a clearance issue. I appreciate everyone's patience with another lift thread!
on my stock road king it slid right under no problems. on Betty which is 1 inch lower in the rear it still slides under, never felt a need for the turntable. I either walk around the bike or the lift spins around easily. Scooter, Lp admits to his faults, don't even know why he likes bugging me but do you want to trade sumthen for my pitbill lift?

I am the better man. Sears jack 98 bucks. Used 56 times so far no issues Wanna trade?
Ok Leo, tkx. This clearance report good news to be sure. I'll probably skip the turntable since it'll almost certainly conflict with the Wheeldock. Do you have the Wheeldock? I hate to remove it, really like it!
So I guess the final question would be to all Pitbull users. Anyone have experience with the lift and Wheeldock?
They want $47 to ship it (I think it's $47). It'd cost me $60 to drive from Memphis to Springville and back to pick it up. Think I'll ride up and buy it, then a leasurly ride back .
Used mine 9 times when one of the lock-bars slipped. Good thing I'd tlghtened the handle. The bike dropped 10" before the hydraulic saved it. I fixed the problem but will not trust this $3x,xxxk investment on it again.
Only words of caution. I'd hate to see what happened to me, happen to anyone else. I hope you get several more years of problem-free use! My Sears is going back to Sears or on E-Bay.
