Exclamation Need Help Pleae

I posted this in the Tech area but no one is ever over there. (much)

Replacing the front wheel on my 05 RK Custom. I do not have a manual and am in need of the torque specs for bolting the brake rotors to the weel, axel nuts, pinch bolts etc. If someone has this information for an RKC05 or compatible your help would be much appreciated.
Thanx

The two that come to mind for me right now (I don't have my service manual with me) is the rotor bolts at 25 ft lbs (I think) and the axle nut at 65 ft lbs (I think). I can look them up tomorrow for you for sure if no one else chimes in.

That would be aswome. I plan on doing it Friday right after work. Very appropriate that you responded as I see you blacked out your 9 spoke wheels. That is what Ive just finished doing to a set I bought from a forum member. Swapping out the slotted cast ones for the 9 spoke. Ive seen them powder coated in some ad's but yours is the 1st set Ive actually seen on a bike. the white walls really set it off. Looks awsome. Thanks again, looking forward to the info.

Gibby, do yourself a favor and buy the Service Manual for your bike if you are inexperienced with Harley's use of Loctite (sometimes it's called for and other times not), don't take digital pictures or notes to get the wheel spacers installed correctly, etc. I'm no tech so I tend to be **** about doing it the way the SM says to do such things. I have also learned that sometimes I don't know what I don't know and don't ask the questions I would have asked if I did.

With the calipers off the rotors, it's a good time to clean the caliper pistons with brake fluid. The pistons accumulate pad dust which, over time, can impair the ability of the pistons to operate smoothly resulting in a soft brake lever. If you go to Lyndal Racing Brakes website, they have a good explanation of the procedure with pictures.

Good luck with your project.

I plan on buying one, just havent as of yet. Ive worked on my and other bikes before and this is a pretty straight forward little job, shouldnt take me more than a few beers if I take my time. Thanks for the tip on the caliper pistons, Im going to look into that Lyndal Racing Brakes website today. Thanks again.

Thanx
Front wheel brake disc bolts= 16-24 ft lbs (manual says always use new bolts)
Pinch bolts= 30-35 ft lbs
Front axle nut= 50-55 ft lbs
Front axle holder nuts= 132-180 in lbs

Let me know if you need any others.

P.S. These are all from my '07 manual. I ASSUME they are the same on an '05.
