Anyone install a backrest pad made for the Chopped Tour-Pak on a King Tour-Pak? I don't care for the look for the wing-like arms on the backrests made for the King, but for storage capacity I would rather have the King. I'm not sure if all of the bolt holes line up, etc., that would make for an easy install of the Chopped backrest.
Completely different holes..........I didn't know that until I had ordered the King Pak with the Chopped Tour Pak pad.......it won't work unless you fill those holes with plugs or bondo and paint. I had a new parts guy when I ordered mine. He didn't know schitt either.
I know what you mean. I now have the Chopped Tour Pak, becasue I didn't like the arms either on a Street Glide.
Like TX F.B said you will have to drill diffrent holes. A couple of guys on here have done it b4, maybe the will chime in. I like the look but to much hassle, I went with a king TP with a reg backrest. Just lazy I guess.
I just did a king tour pak for my RK...and I put the chopped backrest on it. I was repainting it all anyway...so filling the holes was no big deal at the time.
The lids are interchangeable, just another option for ya.
Hey, thanks for the suggestion. I was at my dealer today, and browsed the catalog with the parts guy. They confirmed what you said, the lids are interchangeable. And although the MOCO won't interchange the lids, I can order a full King Tour-Pak and buy just the lid for a Chopped Tour Pak. There will be times when I want to mount the setup in the two-up configuration, with the winged backrest. It's only when I use it in the solo setup that I want to use a chopped backrest. The bottom line, I will be able to buy the parts I want to make this work, without drilling or plugging extra holes. It will cost a few more bucks, but hey, I'd just blow the $$$ on something else anyway!
