I need some help, making sure i order everything i need for adding a detachable tour pak for a 06 SG. I'm tired of waiting to find everything on ebay and then having to have the tour pak painted anyways. Here's the list, and tell me if i left anything off. I already have a detachable backrest installed. So i will not need the, docking hardware. I,m going to order it through Chicago Harley Davidson and save 20%.
Any Help Would Be Appreciated
In the Harley catalog on the tour pak it says King Tour-Pak for FLHX models includes pre-mounted radio antenna base. So the way i take it, is i don't need the antenna relaocation kit, am i correct? - Antenna Relocation Kit - AM/FM - 76326-00A
The first price is the Harley Catalog and the second is Chicago's price.
On my 06 I also have the detach backrest.
I needed the kit # 53804-06 for the king tour pack also.
Be sure to include your key code so the can make your lock
match the bike. BTW you are going to like it so much
it will probably not come off once it's on.
I got the backrest to match the stock seat.
I was running a hidden antenna so I didn't have any
issues with that.
You could also go with a smaller back rest. Like HD 52898-98A I put a detachable on my 07 RG with the small back rest. (It's never been off.) If you don't use the speaker pods you'd have a real clean look.
Everyone says that you will never take it off....?
I leave mine off unless have a passenger or going on a long trip with a need for more space. I like the basic SG looks and ability to throw a leg over, without trying to do yoga and avoid kicking the TourPak. Its a great addition only when it is needed.
