Default Progressive susp front lowering kit

Does anyone have any comments about Progressive's front suspension drop in lowering kit. Looking for info on stiffness, ride quality, ease of install and quality of product. I already have the rear lowered 2", now its time to drop the front.

I have the Race Tech 1" lowering kit with emulators and it clunks. I was thinking about trying the progressive springs.

dogg,
I just installed the Progressive lowering kit, but it wasn't the drop in.

What are you installing it in ??

As far as installation, I read the instructions and it says to remove the fork which is not is not that big a deal, just a PIA. On a RK, remove nacelle etc. Unpulg passing lamps and tip light. Remove rotors, remove fender, remove axel/ Tire, remove a couple of bolts (1 3/16" inch I believe- I used a calibrated crescent wrench and an an engineering dead blow hammer to loosen them), and forks slip out (sorta).

Just took my first real hot lap today with the new 1" lowered suspension, and I have to say the suspension is AWSOME! Its stiffer but at the same time, the ride is smoother! Now I notice how ****ty the rear rides now. You could do it in a Saturday easily- by your self since you dont have to compress that monster spring with the drop in kit.

If you have questions, post them then IM me saying you posted- notification does not work for me....

p.s. It's not as easy as the video shows on a bagger- you have to take the forks out to remove the fork tube nut.. http://www.progressivesuspension.com/dropin/video.html

I installed it on my softail custom this past summer. Dropped it 2" It's fairly simple just read directions and take your time. As far as ride and stiffness all i can say is that i really like it. Also i dont have that weird clunking sound anymore

Thanks for the input. I'll order some this week. Found them on Ebay from American Classic Motors for $112 free shipping.

I've got a set sitting next to my bike. Hope to install them next week. Also have a set of Fatboy fender brackets to lower the front fender at the same time. This is the largest of my winter mods for this year. I'll be posting pics as soon as it is done.

I just helped a friend put his in last Friday on his RK, just read the instructions and it's not bad at all. Like others said you do have to remove the fork, I don't know why progressive calls this a drop in kit.

Without looking at my bike, maybe it could be called a drop-in if you unbolted the bars and moved em out of the way to get to the fork caps? It's funny how these kits are a lot like the kits I used back in the 80's in my MX bikes. They were drop in kits, but had to pop the bars loose and lay em on the tank.

They are only drop on in Dyna's and sporty's. On softails and bagger you gotta take the forks off. Nothing "drop in" about that.
