I have a Joe Rocket Mesh Jacket with the zip in rain liner - works great and I wear it over my heated jacket liner, for pants I have TourMaster Overpants water proof and have a removeable insulated liner. This setup keeps me very warm and dry. I gotten it down to just a couple of garmets for cold, wet, and hot.
I got a pair of these pants : Tour Master Mens Venture Pant , nice and warm with the liner
in, totally waterproof, but the material on the backside of the knee is not burnproof, I
got a hole from touching it to the pipes, when riding the area is not exposed, so no
problem but need to fix the hole.
Having ridden though Canada this past june, It rained 10 out of 19 days on the road. It was on again and off again with the cheap rain gear. Zippers jammed and broke. I've replaced mine with Aerostich gear. This stuff is all weather, all purpose riding gear. Not that I will... but people have ridden around the world wearing their gear.
What ever you buy make sure it has full length zippers on the legs and will breathe. Size it to go over your jacket and chaps as rain gear gives no protection in a crash.
