I went with V&H Ovals for my '07 and stayed with the stock headpipes. Fuel Moto says it's a better route to go than true duals, something about the engine liking it better in their experience.
Mine are loud enough for the wife, but not loud enough to get you in trouble around town unless you're revving them excessively. Normal driving gives you that good old pleasing "Harley" sound.
We now have some very trick dB testing equipment and have been testing bB levels over the past few weeks and when we get extra time we will test an assortment of mufflers on the same 09 bike on the same day and post some #s on our website for reference. Some quick info from our testing that some may find interesting is that our Jackpot Dyno Tuned mufflers are only 1.9 dB louder than the stock mufflers at idle, and 1.6 dBs louder at 3000 RPM. The Jackpot mufflers test quieter than both the Supertrapp SE mufflers and also the Rush mufflers with 1.75 baffles.
Long story short, I have the B&E Max 2's - Actually too loud as a set, but with the B&E left muffler and the stock right muffler, I've got a great sound, not loud - But enough to let the deer know you're coming. A decent bark with a twist, but not enough to **** off the neighbors. $125 lousy bucks.
And appears completely stock - which is a big plus depending on what county you're going through...
