Default painted windshield
Just a tip. My son in law builds Radio Control cars from kits that have clear plastic bodies. He paints them from the inside, to keep them from scratching. You could get that same paint at a hobby shop. Comes in small spray cans.

I bought some Krylon for plastic today and experimented with the portion od shield that I cut off. It looked ok but I did not scuff it or anything like that. I think I will try to find some copper like suggested and repaint the lower prtion black and the upper portion with the copper. But I do have one more question,if I scuff the surface,won't it show through the other side?

No. It will look glossy from the front.
