Default Shocks

OK -- I've got the lowering blocks installed, but all the talk on the forum says go with BitchinBaggers or Progressive.

Exactly which Progressive 412 shock do I need for my 08 RG? If you have a part number, that would be so much better.

Thanks in advance.

you should be able to search this site for bitchinbaggers. Some just had a thread about them. And if nothing else do a Google search. Just took the blocks off my EG. Seems we tore up the wire harness in the rear fender when running 2 up and bottomed out. I'll be looking at new shocks too. Have you thought about the HD version?

I just bought Race Tech Caddies shocks for my 09. They have a nice product and Harley copied there front fork emulators. I'm told, in their 09 forks. I have not installed them yet. $699

Just sent my shocks to Bitchin Baggers ( AKA Phoenix Customs ) They are great people to deal with, They will take the time with you on the phone to help you figure out what you need and what will work best. Give them a call you won't be disappointed. 480-967-7588

This is what I have on my 07 roadking classic 412-4075B/C. They are 11.5'' chrome heavy duty, I would recommend if you do 2 up riding you might want to look at the 440 series model #440-4060B/C. I like mine and rides great.

Thumbs up

I have the HD low profile on my 07EGC and they are nice..However, I had the Progressive 440 Heavy Duties on my 97 RK and loved them. I am a little guy 250+ so I went with the HD version no the lowest setting and would turn them up a notch 2 up. Anyone under 200lbs who rode my bike got bounced to hell because they were to stiff. Call Progressive and talk to them, they will steer you toward the best product for your particular needs. I highly recommend the 440's with the self adjusting technology the bike handles great.

I bought shocks for my 87 flht from bitchin baggers. Stacie was great to deal with. I have them on the bike now waiting for weather to warm up to try them. I went with 1 1/2 lower shock, the lowering blocks that where on the bike when i bought it where causing damage to my bags.

I put a set of Progressive 440 Heavy Duty shocks on my 06 RG. They are warranted for as long as I own them, however, they are not covered if you use a lowering kit with them. The shocks provide a great ride compared to the stock HD air shocks.
