After years of buying bikes and adding things to make it what i want, i finally just bought a 09 ultra. i looked at the standard and classic and there is nothing wrong with them, but i knew i would just add the lowers and speakers in the back and added it up and it would be the same or more than a ultra. 2 years ago i was riding wheelies at 100mph. Now ive never been happier now that i have the Ultra. Havent run out of room in the bags yet.

Figured id throw up some recent pics of my 08 EGS. I have a pioneer radio hiding under the leather flap in the dash. I have put alot of money into mine. Probaly could have just got a street glide, but the standard kept my monthly payment nice and cheap like i wanted. So for me it was better to buy the cheap bike and make it what i wanted with time. And alot of the goodies ive added were x-mas presents for my perfect girlfriend! Like the Premium oil cooler shes getting me for my birthday next month!

I'm also looking at the 09 EGS. Just waiting to sell my old bike so I have the cash for it :-)

I have already looked at severel gadgets to put on the bike when I get it. So far my wish list is like this:

-sissybar detachable
-backrest pad
-luggage rack detachable
-docking hardware kit 4 point
-mayby a lower seat, sat on a EG ultra and thought the seathight was a little high.
-saddlebag liners
-fairing mount mirrors
-turnsignal lens kit, clear
-Somekind of exhaust and airfilter upgrade
-lower windshield/deflector for those hot summer days.
-center stand - all my previous bikes had center stands couldnt emagine not having it.
-lockable glovebox

-I want somekind of throttle lock, does the bike come standard with that? if so does anyone have a closeup pic of it?

hmm I hope to sell my BMW bike real soon :-/

Had an 05 FLHT, it was great, just traded 2 weeks ago for an 09 FLHT, Vivid black, 350 miles in last few days riding to work. It is unbelivible how much better it handles on the corners, bumps, lines in the road........... I love it! As for all the other items, radios, chrome etc, I will pick up what I want as I go along, as is it was perfect for me now. The SG rode good but wife didnt like the pegs in lieu of the floor boards, at 280 and 6-2 I like the FLHT taller suspension and windhsield to. didnt need a tour pack now, computer and hard hat fits in the saddle bags just fine! Hope that helps!

I wish I bought a Standard instead of my Ultra. I seldom use some of the Ultra's features, plus the Standard weighs less.

Cruise control is available and works much better than a throttle lock.

Started with the 05 EGS.

I ended up putting quit a bit of stuff on it.Got alot of that back on trade in.
If I had to do that again I'd most likey just get the classic.
Got the 09 RG now.Love it.
Dont get a new bike without ABS.Saved my bacon 3 weeks ago. Will never own a bike without it again.

Had an '06 EGS and traded it in for 09 EGS...and couldn't be happier. Put a stage 1, PC with Rinehart slipon's...a blast to ride. Had to have my tunes, for less than $600 put in an Alpine deck with 6 1/2"...I can hear it crystal clear at 80mph. Not to mention, the 09's handle like a dream.
