I'm picking up tan '09 SG tomorrow and I have a question. I'm planning on installing a Screamin' Eagle Air kit an Monster Ovals (They're flashing the ECM with the Stage 1 downlad for me at the dealer.)
So I'm going over the instructions for the air kit and it says I need to use the digital tech and remove the fuel tank? WTF...do I really need to remove the gas tank . Can't I just put it on and go? (I take it the digital tech would be needed for the Stage 1 download which the dealer is doing.))
You can gain some room by unbolting the rear of the tank and lifting it up and wedging a piece of wood under it, But as pointed out, you need an allen with a 90 degree bend in it. Or like I did, I cut about 1/2" off of an allen wrench and epoxied it into a 1/4 drive socket. Works real well.
Congrats on the new scoot. The SE a/c will be a breeze. We should hook up sometime, I started a riding group and have near 30 members so far, even some females.
