I think we all would vote that YOU leave before Fuel Moto does.

EITMS is about rider comfort. She will get hotter with the rear cyl firing but it wont damage the engine.

Smoke out the throttle body isnt good. You will get a coating of soot on the bore, injectors, butterfly etc. In extreme cases the soot could impede operation. If I was you i would disable EITMS until it gets sorted.

I agree, if you are having a problem to turn the EITMS off. Also note that on the 08-09 bike it does not shut off the rear cylinder, it skip fires both cylinders by delivering a sequentially controlled misfire.

reply from fuel moto:

Hello, we have not seen any issues with EITMS (including on my personal 09 that I ride everyday) The only issue was where users were were trying to use the Auto Tune to adjust the idle which is incorrect.
These two don't jive.

Also, I swapped mufflers and AC about a week before doing the PCV install, so I have direct before/after experience with no change other than installing the PCV. Remove PCV, no problem, install PCV problem as reported.

Jamie, can you elaborate of how you've seen it stall on a stock bike without a PCV? This failure (with the PCV) is easy for me to reproduce just sitting in my garage. I can go home tonight and do some more empirical testing to prove that 20x out of 20 it works stock, and 15x out of 20 it fails with the PCV.

By the way - don't take any of this as Fuelmoto criticism. I realize you don't manufacture the PCV or code the firmware.

Planning to order an AT from you all this week.

Thanks,
Bob

While I cannot speak for your bike as I have not seen it (and I do not recommend getting your bike up to these sustained temps while sitting stationary to test this) I can only draw my analysis from the many PC-V equipped bikes we have tested and tuned here including our 09 that I ride everyday. It is simply a fact of my testing that when in skip fire mode that I can make our 09 bike snub out completely stock as well as with the PC installed. I have tested this several times with and without the TechnoResearch Centurion diagnostic software and data recording software with which I could not come to a further conclusion as to its direct cause. If I have further info I will post it.

My stock bike stumbled Friday when in heavy traffic after the EITMS engaged. It didn't like throttle blipping at all but would work fine if I gave gas then clutch... I ordered a PCV from Jamie/Kieth today...

I would clean out the soot if it was my bike. It probably wont make any difference but I wouldnt take the chance. Get a bit of carby cleaner and give her a squirt.
