A great day
I had to take my wife to get a Mamogram in Clovis, NM today , about a 110 miles. So I went and cleaned up my truck for the trip yesterday, and while I was at it, washed and waxed the Ultra. To my surprise, she said"Let's go on the bike". She's never went over 20 miles with me, so I was shocked! First we went to IHOP for breakfast, then hit the road. It was sunny but a little windy, so we dressed the part. I loaned her my Schampa face mask since cold air bothers her since she had heart surgery 4 years ago. The ride was great, we cruised about 70 mph, and enjoyed the stereo. Got the appointment done, went over to Hastings book store and had some fancy coffee. Of course, I bought the new American Bagger magazine while I was there. The wind had stopped on the way home, so we cruised and had a great time jammin to the oldies on the radio. All total about 225 miles round trip. She enjoyed it so much, she said her mind was made up and she would make the Sturgis trip with me, which I wanted but wasn't pushing for.
She is planning on going and buying new gear since she really doesn't have any and used one of my jackets and goggles today, so here goes my cash
. All in all, a perfect day and the Ultra performed without a flaw. That to me is what riding is all about. Ride safe and maybe we'll see you in Sturgis.

That sounds like a great day. BTW, whenever my wife has her mammogram...the Dr. treats the twins pretty rough, I'm told....so I try to do my part and give her a mammo-massage after the appointment. Sometimes she takes me up on it.

That's a great story. I would still ride even if my wife didn't like it but lucky for me she likes riding with me as much as I like riding. We love the radio/XM/MP3 player and the intercom. I guess there are a lot of guys that don't want to hear their wives when they ride but we love the ability to communicate. Because of where we live we rarely have any rides together that are less than 150 miles. Have a great ride to Sturgis. We did it in 2004 from the Mojave Desert and it was very memorable in a good way.

That's a cool story! Hope the exam went well. When I picked up the new scoot today the wife had taken me to the dealer. She hopped on back for a quick spin. As we got back to the dealer she picked up a flier for an upcoming poker run from the front reception desk. She's never been interested in this kind of stuff before. Kind of like your wife, never more than 20 miles at a hop. Today, though, she said, "We need to do this next week. I'll ride one of these on the new bike."
