i ordered a set of hogg chopp lowers today for my road king. 339.00 painted to match i figured i would give them a try. i like the looks of them vs the hd lowers. i will let you know how they are when i get them. i spoke to the owner and he assured me they use the same paint and clear coat that harley uses for a perfect match. we will see. seem like nice people.
I looked at them too, when I was deciding between the HD color matched lowers or the Hogg Chopps. I went the other direction, preferring the more classic HD styling of the HD lowers. The Hogg Chopps were definitely a contender because of the price point, but their styling was just a little too different for my tastes.
Good luck with them. I've never heard anyone who bought them complain about their quality or functionality.
they told me they are in the middle of redesighning the hogg box and they stopped selling the old ones. he wasnt happy with the fit on them. i figure if i want them down the road i will just get them. i went with the hogg chopps only to give it a more custom look, and they seem like the give you more room for feet and highway pegs. will let u know when i get them
I ordered a set and when they came in they had a small run in the paint. Not bad but there none the less. Andy (owner) was happy to ship them back at his expense and paint them again. I hope to have them back this week. In all fairness, these new denim paints are really hard to shoot according to a friend who is a painter. I'll post pics as soon as I get tham. if enough of us FLT owners nudge him maybe he'll design a Glove Box for us too as currently they are only for the FLH bikes.
Certainly something to consider. Haven't really looked too close at them, but I'll be interested to hear your comments. I have been thinking about lowers, stock, aftermarket, and even the Chaps concept. I'll be watching, and thanks.
