Thanks for the help. I am having the SE 255 cam installed, so it will be covered under warranty. So in what circumstances does one use adjustable pushrods?
The way I understand it, one would use adjustable pushrods when doing cam work, in order to avoid pulling the tank, rockers, etc. This means that the existing pushrods will need to be cut and replaced with adjustables.
If you would like to stick with your current solid pushrods, (since you're having this done) then you'd have to pay the extra labor to pull (and replace) your tank, rockers, etc.

The tank doesn't need to be removed and only needs to be jacked up an inch or two. It doesn't get in the way of removing the rocker components, although it still isn't easy since the frame is in the way and makes removing several bolts a real hassle.
I don't think adjustable pushrods are a "failure" risk, they are typically used to either save time by not having to pull the heads/rocker boxes, or if you are planning on swapping cams repeatedly?
I was thankful for the adjustable push rods in my S&S. the push rod tube orings started to leake and it made it real easy to change them out with these. On my other SG i had to pull the rocker box off. No thanks. Adjustable all the way man.
So the SE255's will keep the factory warranty intact? The SE catalog states "for race application only" for all their cams, including the SE255's, so I'm surprised that they would consider it different than any of the others. It is the stock cam in the CVO bikes, of course.
Just bought 09 ultra and the dealer , Steel City HD, is going to honor the 2 year warranty on the engine work. I don't think all dealers do this.

They may be telling you that crap...but did they put it in writing?
Also, are you aware that most likely your entire engine warranty may be void with the 255 cam?
Perhaps not with that dealer...but 1000 miles away...you're S-O-L!
Any of the cams in that Screaming Eagle catalog that displays the "checker flag" tab...are not warrantable.
