Changing The build !
I found a tuner about 100 miles away that had excellent references. I decided to take it to him. I started thinking I should do a little more since I was going that far to get it tuned. He suggested the 103+ heads and 10.5:1 pistons.
I see lots of other builds, especially with aftermarket parts that have much more impressive numbers than mine, but I still have full warranty that covers everything except the pistons and heads that I added.
My build is not a pavement shredder or a front end puller. But it is very reliable and runs very good, especially low end and through the range I ride the most.
Just about any cam other than the 255's would make more hp than I have, but it would be tough to find another cam that would produce more tq at 2,000 to 4,000 rpms. My last metric bike was well over 100 hp. I don't feel like I am missing anything when I ride this build.
