Default New Intake Question

Hey all,

I've been searching and snooping the threads for a couple days looking for the answer, but can't find it. Since I've decided to go a different route on the 07 Street Glide, I need to order a new air kit.

I love the look of the Heavy Breather (and ones like it...Wimmer spike, etc) but I was wondering if there was an alternative that would let me pu the lowers on when I want to. Clearance seems to be the issue with the 90deg units, but someone must build one. If anyone has pics with this type of setup would you please post? Info would also be greatly appreciated as I have to decide this weekend (the boys and I are placing a Zanotti's order on Monday to be shipped to Canada).

If nothing is available, I may just say "screw it" and order the HD HB anyway since I'm putting JBrake forwards on. I was just hoping to keep the option open for using highway pegs if needed.

Thanks,
Greg

Just a fact from the dyno runs that the HB has the same cfm that the SE a/c has. If you just want it for the looks though, that's cool. As far as clearence, I'm not up on the lowers...

Ya, I know the CFM is basically the same and what would MAKE SENSE is to go with the S/E or the Ness Billet Sucker. This time the build isn't about what makes sense, it's about what I should have done in the first place...buy a Softail. Since I have the SG, I might as well make of it what I can. With any luck, in a couple years I'll be able to sell off the Tourpak, the boards, engine guard and vented lowers (once the wife actually starts riding her 1200c). Then the fun begins...

This order will be the AC, Fuelpak, V&H Big Radius, rider's backrest and JBrake forwards. Can't do much more until I am rid of passengers (kids and wife). Three or four more years with the kids and they won't want to ride with me anymore, and once the wife is comfortable enough riding her own we'll be able to tour tandem.

Well, I haven't put lowers on my King, but I can tell you that although the Wimmer on her LOOKS like it would bug you with its position, it doesn't come into play for me at all.

Only problem I have now is that the part # for the HB WAS 29592-05, but it's no longer on the Harley site. The 29253-08A is listed, but it's for the '08+ touring (larger throttle body) and won't work on my '07. Anyone know if it's still available?

Okay, now I'm getting confused (not that it's all that hard for me to do).

Since I can't seem to find the HB part # for 2007 touring anymore I've been looking into Wimmer, D&M, and others. Now I can't seem to figure out the fitment guides because everything says:

OR 99-06 TWIN CAM W/ CV CARB & 01-09 TWIN CAM W/ DELPHI EFI (EXCEPT 08-09 DRESSER)

A little help please! Would this description fit a 2007 Street Glide TC 96?

UPDATE:

That is the fitment description for the 07 touring with Delphi FI.

Next question: Anyone know if Wimmer Super Squat filters will fill on an HD Heavy Breather? $490 for the Wimmer 90deg with SS filter. $233 for the HD HB and $115 for the Wimmer filter equals $347. Thinking this may be a better route because I've decided to leave the vented lowers on.

Anyone done it or know?

29592-05 was superceded to 29299-08 $299.95 retail
