Default Is the Auto Tune worth the extra $ with PCV?

I ordered a PCV but am still unsure about the auto tune. Who is using them and are they worth the extra cash? If I do cams this summer will they really help tune then also?

Thanks in advance.

I'd install the PC V first. You can always add the Auto tune. I just bought a PC V from Fuelmoto for my 09 SE Fat Bob. Having bought two other PCIII's several years back, I was very skeptical as I had bad experiences with both. With so many good reports about Fuelmoto I thought I'd try a PC once more. It came plug and play. I wanted something that would cool the bike and keep the rear cylinder from cutting off. It did just that. I also did not want the drivability effected adversely and it wasn't. Lastly I wanted to maintain my 38.5 MPG average, though I was warned I might loose a couple MPG. Well, I actually gained 7 MPG. I confirmed this good news with a second tank coming in at 42+ MPG and that was with quite a bit of playing.

i have auto tune on my thundermax, if it works like thundermax then you will have the same fuel ratio all through out every rpm example if it is set at 13.0 you will get 13.0 at every rpm. which is easy but not always good for gas mileage. over time it will adjust from the base map to achieve this 13.0 but wont change the base map and you tend to get decel pop from the jumping around of air to fuel ratio. i leave the auto tune off during cooler months and use it during the hot months (make it rich).

I bought the PC-V first then added the autotune. The Autotune doesn't set one AFR across all RPM. It allows you to set different AFR values by rpm and by Throttle Position. SO far, I am very happy with the autotune and can tell the difference. It seems the more I ride the better it tunes.

As to whether it is worth it or not - I would probably buy it again but the original Map from Fuel Moto was very good and if you change something they will send you another map. I like the AT and am glad I installed it.
