How difficult is it mounting the hardware for the adjustable backrest with remote to a 09 UC? Does it require getting up under the rear fender, such as wheel removal? Order it online so i have not seen instructions yet. Any help would be great so i can know what to expect.
Waiting to put mine on. I have read the instructions and seems pretty straight forward except for the intruction sheet itself. Search for a recent thread on the site, it even has some pictures.
It took me about 30 minutes to install, including 10 minutes looking for the rear seat-to-fender screw that I dropped and lost. Make sure you take a look at how the seat cross-strap slips into the bracket when you take it off to remove the seat.
One thing I have noticed is that the backrest puts more pressure on my butt as I ride, because I sit straighter I think. Now I am in the market for a seat upgrade...

Just done mine. Bought it from a forum member. Remove seat, you will see 2 bolts in fender. Remove the 2 nuts. I had to drill a hole in the cross over piece of metal for the single bolt hole, no problem. Had to remove the spark plug wire clip holder from the factory heat shield so the adjustment control could be mounted. Be careful running the cable. The small locking tabs on the cable will break if you get them in a bind. Don't ask how I know. Fixed it with tie straps. Made my ride a whole lot more comfortable.
Like everyone above said....It's real ez and straight forward. Only bitch is lining up the controller under the heat shield. I am real happy with mine, although once set I have not adjusted it.
Very easy install - I would really look at the Mustang backrest instead if you have not bought it. It is a LOT nicer, and about the same cost. I had the adjustable Harley one on my last bike - this is a lot better - easier to adjust too and conforms to your back better

You mentioned this a while back, so I took your advice and bought the Mustang and am very happy with it. Easy to install and easy to use.
