Yet another +1 for ACC. Can't beat their service either - for sure the REAL old-school attitude WRT their customers. We're close enough to go to their shop and twice now they've dropped whatever they were working on at the time to help us the minute we walked in (custom shaping mine for my odd noggin and then purchase and tweaking strap lengths to suit my wife with her new one). Once you buy from ACC you're truly considered to be part of their family - period.

I just ordered the ACC Polo from Head Trip, now hurry up and tell me why I should switch to the Extended so I can call back and change the order.

Best on the market for what? It has to be for weight, because it is nowhere near "best on the market" for protection.

Probably a matter of opinion and depends on whether or not you want to lug around a bowling ball on your head. Actually, none of them protect me, I carry my ACC in my tour pak and put it on when I cross over into one of the controlling states.

Default ACC works

I got the ACC DOT and then exchanged it for the non DOT 1/2
which still offers considerable protection but is not DOT certified.
The DOT was a lttle heavier and sat too high on my head.

They make a great helmet and customer service is tops !

I have both, since some areas do helmet checks at traffic check points.

Yes, the DOT does sit slightly higher on your head compared to the non-DOT but that's because there's more side padding in the DOT version.

If I could get away with the non-DOT, I probably would wear that in the summer months and my Daytona 3/4 (real light weight also) in the cooler months.

have had mine three years, it's the only one I wear now. Have it on in the below pic. Honest a couple of times while leaving the house I have reached up and touched it to make sure I didn't forget it, it's very light.
