I was at a dealer in Hickory NC and the salesman mentioned that the 08s needed an upgrade to activate the heat management (rear cyllinder shut down). Accurate? Cost? Anyone know?

On 07's it was a free one time installation and free deletion if you didn't like it.
I believe on 08's it can be activated by you. Maybe it's the 09's.
Should be something in your manual.

 

Early 08's needed to be done by the dealer. I had them do mine and it works as advertised. Later 08 and 09's just need for you to turn the throttle closed then a little more closed and it activate it. The cruise light will change color to let you know it activated.

 

Where can I find the info for the 07"s?

The info may be in your owners manual. Your dealer should know about it.

 

I think it was afree dealer addition ,,once for any built before a date in dec 07 after that its already installed ask dealer
