My last bike didn't have security. I just bought an 07 FLHX used and the previous owner said that you have to keep the fob with the bike or the security goes off (lights flashing, etc).
This doesn't make sense to me. So, you have to lock the fob in the saddlebag when you walk away from the bike and into a restaurant or bar?
Assuming you have the same system fitted as standard on my 08 Ultra then that is completely the opposite of what you must do. Just keep the FOB on you all the time. As you get out of range the bike arms automatically
sg is correct , if its the Harley fob ya hafta keep it with you .. It arms/disarms within a couple feet of the bike .. If ya dont have the fob with you the bike will not start .. To check it , just try starting the bike with the fob five feet away or so , wont start ..
Also you can disarm it with the turn signals , if the previous owner didnt give you his security code , you need to get it so you can change it ..
There may be another way to change if you dont know the code , if there is someone else woll hafta chime in ..
