Did you prime the plates before installing the clutch? Also if it is cold the fluid may be thick and causing the issue. Does it get better when it warms up? Try to adjust the clutch by loostening the jamb nut, back out the center bolt and tighten it until you feel it grab then back it off 1/4-1/2 turn and tighten the jamb nut. See if this works. Also try changing to the recommended fluid.
Take the motor oil out of the primary and put the ATF in like the others reccomended. Barnett tells you to run ATF with their clutches. You may need to change it after a short while in order to flush out any residual motor oil. We run ATF in our primary and no problems with 142 HP, 154 LBS torque. We run motor oil in the motor, ATF in the primary, and Royal Purple in the tranny, that way if we develop a leak we know where it is coming from by the color. If you installed anything that is supposed to reduce the clutch effort, they can also cause problems. Hope this helps.
Its at the HD dealer who did the install. I hope they soaked the plates, they put a call into Barnett as they are a authorized dealer of theirs also I guess I have to wait and see what happens. The service manager stated they are seeing more and more Scorpion clutches doing this so I wonder now exactly what is going on.
ATF fluid makes sense I was wondering if the plates got warped from heat or something. I will respond upon the conclusion of this one, I'm sure I'm not the only one scratching their head on this one.

Well I received an email from the HD dealer after four days of playing phone tag with Barnett, they said the Barnett Tech stated, to disasemble the clutch and inspect the plates for a discrepancy of some sort they did not state it but I was told Barnett changed the clutch plates and if I have the bad design Barnett would change them out with the newer designed ones free of charge. Apparently the newer design or the ones from MEXICO instead of CHINA are better? Who knows....No wonder the dealer dropped Barnett clutches and switched to RIVERA.
I will keep updating this as I find out whats up and finally get my bike back.
Well it was also dynoed shes at 106 ft lbs and 89 hp.
Can't wait to put the rubber to the pavement......
Well I heard back from the dealer and they were told by Barnett I have a set of off spec or old design of clutch disks.
They are shipping a new set for free to the dealer for set-up and installation and recommemded using ATF fluid in the primary I hope this all goes well.
Can't wait to get the bike back!!
