Im running 18 on my Supermeg 2:1. 16 was too quiet and I can't feel any performance diffrence between 18 and 20, but 20 is a bit louder than I wanted. It's not diffucult to experiment with but waiting for the pipe to cool between is a pain.

same here, make sure to use anti seize liberally on the screws every time you remove them.
I'm runnin' 9 plates in a Supertrap 2 into 1. It works well, but I'll probably add a plate or 4. It's not noisy now, & I doubt a few more plates will make it much noisier.
Basically stock 96" motor with a Big Sucker air cleaner, Supertrapp 2:1 that was dyno tuned with a SERT. The tuner settled on 14 discs, closed end cap. I'm happy with the low rumble that it gives in town and it's pretty quite on the highway, which is just fine by me.
