Default Autotune or Dyno tune?

I have the FuelMoto power package on my '09 Ultra. (PCV, Jackpots and K&N AC). In the near future I am planning on installing a HQ 525 cam. I can't decide whether to drop $299.00 on an Autotune module, or drop $250.00 on a custom dyno tune with a local indy? Anybody care to give me their .02 on which way to go?

Don't have much experience on the PCV auto tune but have plenty with the thunder Max with Auto tune. Take this in consideration the $250.00 is a one time deal, the auto tune will be there to make adjustment manually and it will learn as you ride. the dyno is one time riding data auto tune will adjust according your type of ride and enviroment you are in. My 2 cents get the auto tune and get Jamie to give you the best match for your base map, then learn the feature on your system.

I am not too familiar with the PCV, but the autotune is a nice alternative if you do not have a good tuner in the area. From my reading on the forum, if Harleytuner was in my area, I would go to him over the autotune. JMO.

I've had the auto-tune system, and I got rid of it. I'm going with the SERT and dyno tune.........that way you know it's done right for your given combo.

Another thing to keep in mind...........no auto-tune system self adjusts the timing maps, so you are always leaving something on the table.

So how are you going to be sure it was done right ? I used to run a PCIII and took it in for a Dynotune, asked alll the questions you are supposed to ask, it still ran like crap. Put up with it for 6 months, went to a Tmax and it has never run so good. I may be leaving a bit on the table but I feel it's a worthy sacrifice for the way it runs the other 99% of the time. It's not a perfect system but it works very well.

Just a note... Just got off the phone with thundermax a few hours ago. There is not a thundermax autotune on the market yet for 08 and 09 fly by wire touring bikes. You will need to get on a waiting list to get one when it’s released. And the PCV with auto tune is an extra $250 per module on top of the $350 for the unit which also only works with 09 bikes. Total cost for PCV w/auto tune = around $850 and then good luck trying to find room on your scoot for all those little boxes and wire bundles. Thundermax is around $1000 and replaces the ECU, no messy clusters of wiring going everywhere. I think I will be waiting for the 09 thundermax. Just my two cents.

I put the TMAT on my 07 Ultra with 103 big bore, customized 4" SE mufflers with 2" fullsac baffles, and a lot more and she runs like a scalded dog... the wide band o2 sensors do work... Oh what a feeling to drive TMAT.... No offense to PETA members,,,,,

fuelmoto sells pc5 retrofits that will work with any 02+ delphi bikes. the pc5 is $299 and the Autotune is $299. there is nothing else required. the 3 modules fit easily in the right side cover on a non ABS bike...

also if any of my dynojet components take a crap, i can unhook them and run on the stock map in the ECM, whereas if your tmax ecm dies you are SOL. both systems have their advantages, but I would not consider the tmax better than a pc5/AT setup
