Being somewhat of a audiophile a stereo upgrade was mandatory for me. That said mine is crystal clear and very loud at any reasonable speed and I even find myself turning it down at times. There are many options out there that you would be happy with.

If I'm riding at 70 or above it usually means I'm on the Interstate and then I'm wearing my full face. And I can hear it fine with the full face cause I don't have all the wind noise.

At 50 I can hear it great with my half helmet.

1+ on the ear plugs. I use the foam ones and I can hear my SG radio much better at Interstate speeds, due to wind blockage.

Try to look at it as an upgrade opportunity. Hogtunes is a big improvement for the money.

I just finished my Hogtunes speaker upgrade (amp comes later).

My local dealer just happened to have 1 pair in stock and was also giving a 20% discount!

Man, those stock speakers... these things knock their socks clean off and into the washer.
