I'm considering trading my '07 RK for an '09 but I'm 6'2" and worried about the stock bars ('07 stockers hurt my shoulders and back). I love the WG Mini-Apes I put on my '07 but they won't work on an '09.
Can any of you '09 owners suggest a solution for me? I just want a modest up'n'in sort of hand position change so that I don't have to get new cables, etc.
ETA: I plan to get ABS and Cruise on an '09.

You can get the Heritage style bar They have 3" more pull back and set a little higher. The good part is you don't need new cables just the bar about 80 bucks.
Best mod and one of the cheapest I did was the Heritage bars, they are like $50-60. On an 09 you will have to disconnect the cables from the controls, it really is pulling wires through the bars not cables, plug and play really, get the maint manual with the bike, you will love the 09.

I have an 09 RKC and the stock bars are causing me to have upper shoulder pain/discomfort. I was thinking of 2-3" higher bars with 2-3" pull back....what have you decided on?

The linked text says the Heritage type bars are 3" more pullback. No extra rise is mentioned though SeniorChief but they do work without having to replace the cables.
I don't mind bars with a couple of inches reduced width though since width can be swapped for height while still retaining the same overall tube/cable length. For instance, when viewed from the side, my mini-apes rise straight in-line with the stock fork angle so there's just a tiny bit of added pullback but they offer a couple of inches higher hand position (less of the stock "hunched over" problem reaching down for the grips).
BTW SeniorChief (off-topic for bars but...), I'm also using a Mustang solo seat since it has deeper bucket (butt moved down = hands moved up just a little more) plus it gained me an inch or two more set-back for better leg-room too.
