I had one on my 05 Ultra for a few years now. Mine is from HD and I picked it up on Flea Bay. Install was fairly simple but it did take a bit to bleed the line of air.

I use a vacuum pump for all types of brake and clutch lines. It's the most effective method I found. I use the same pump I have for vacuum bagging carbon fiber and kevlar plate / parts. All you need is some type of catch pot so no fluid goes into pump . other than that it's very simple and I will never go back to manually bleeding systems. If anyone wants more info feel free to pm me.
I've installed one on every Dresser I've built, I love em'.I just installed one on my '09 Street Glide. HD make's a complete kit for your '05 but not for the newer '07 and up bike's, so this is what I did. I went into the CVO Ultra part's catalog and ordered the transmission end cover, push rod, chrome lever and the hydraulic line. Because I didn't want a chrome master cylinder I went into the V-Rod catalog and ordered a black master cylinder (it's the same size, 11/16) All bolted up great. If anyone is interested I can provide all the part numbers.
Now, this is important, if you do this there is one more thing you have to do. There is a clutch lock out switch in your left switch housing (this prevents you from starting the bike while it is in gear) You need to change out the switch because it is a normally closed switch on the clutch cabled bikes and a normally open switch on the hyd. clutch bikes. If you don't your bike will only be able to start while in nuetral and not in gear while the clutch is pulled in. What also happens if you don't change this switch out is your security (key) light will go on while riding and your 6 gear light will not function.
I can't say enough about how better this bike now shift's. Way better! The only complaints I've heard from people is that the hyd system is alittle more "abrupt" then the cable but it doesn't take long to get used to. If i can answer any question's for anyone plz shout my way. Rich
I agree, I made this mistake with the switch, couldn't figure it out what the problem was, came on HD forum, 2 years now all is good!
First - a "thank you" to 14GuineaPig for his thoughtful and helpful information about manufacturer of m/c Harley uses on clutch.
Second, current 2016 JP Catalog shows bore sizes with after-market clutch and brake grip-mounted master cylinders. These are 9/16 inch and 5/8 inch. Clutch being the 9/16.
Seems close 'nuf to work a brake.
see page 379 bottom right...
Thanks again, old man!
Oh - I posted a small picture of my old very modified WL - and you can see the front brake cable running to the double leading shoe (japanese) hub and also the rocker...just in case anybody's innarested...
Also, everyone thinks that you install a hyd system for a easier pull. Not true. Although it is aliitle easier, what I find so good about it is the (damn, I know I'm not going to be able to spell this word) "fliudent" feel. Get my drift?
i know exactly what you mean. i have a hyd clutch on my bike, the wife does not. if i ride her bike, the clutch just feels 'mushy' to me. even though i do a full clutch adjustment and fluid change every 5k. the hyd clutch just feels 'crisper'.
