I installed Khrome Works sweepers and it solved the problem. Pulling the stock bars back just lowered them too much and made the problem worse. IMO, low bars are the problem. These bars are closer to shoulder high.
Do a search to learn more about the sweepers. I did an install thread.
Steve
mine started in my shoulder and turned to numbness in right arm. found out i had 2 herniated cervical disc. never knew i had this problem. disc removed, fusion. and titanium plate in neck repaired it. i would try backrest (this is difference in night and day on how long i ride + keeps back straight). also changed bars which brought arms in closer to center of body and reduced the "stretch" to my bars. can ride 4-500 miles no problem. might not work for you but worth a try...good luck to you...ride safe
Tom here again. For those who do not understand how floorboard extensions can help your lower back, listen up. By moving the position of you feet out to the sides a bit, it changes where the pressure on your back is. I have had quite a few customers state that adding these have relieved their lower back pain.
Upper back pain is a whole different animal. I was simply trying to offer some suggestions that might help the person who posted this thread. I still think he needs new bars first as when I see than angle of the grips on those in the sig pic I cringe. When I had taller bars on my bike I preferred for them to be a bit more forward, as opposed to coming back to me. But seating is kinda like how do you wear your hair. Different for everyone. That's all for now from me.
Regards,
Tom

I agree they do help. They are a great bang for your buck. Watch your boards if you ride hard though!
