Had my Street Glide about a month and all is good. The swingarm water deal is the only current issue that may be more than just an isolated deal. Look, alot of times you read posts on a forum and it is really people trying to get answers to an issue they are having. It says nothing about the thousands who have had no issue and are happy. They don't normally come to a forum to simply post all is good. Even the famed Goldwing is not without issues from time to time. So, if a Harley is what you crave... eat up!!!
I believe it was on a thread that was talking about motor mounts coming loose or something. One of the comments was, "another 09 problem". That led me to think that maybe there were bunches of 'em, hence my post.

Ok, this is lame, but I sold my stock roadglide seat to another member here. I'm getting ready to send it to him, but, I can't seem to get the bracket off one of the sides of the strap. One side has a phillips head screw and nut. The side I'm having trouble with is smooth on the outside and open on the inside. Can't seem to get it off and it apears to be a rivet? Any suggestions or should I just send him the strap and bracket attached?
Oh yeah, the strap that came with the HD Reach seat did not come with any brackets or screws, just the strap. So if I ever want to use the strap for a passenger, guess I'll have to buy new brackets. Lame.

that was me that you are kind of quoting. it was part sarcasm and part not. I am one of the ones with the swing arm issue. there have not been a ton of problems, and truth be known, I am sure a few of them are ones that were experienced with other year models as well. bolts coming loose is one of those things that is going to happen with something that vibrates a bit. All in all, I am very happy with my 09 FLHR, as I am sure you will be if you make the trade

IIRC, you have to remove the bracket from the saddle bag mount to get the strap off, then you put the bracket back on
