?? new bars on '09 FLHR
I have a 2009 Road King FLHR. I have the heritage bars now and they are adjusted as far back as they can be. I need about another 2 inches 'cause I'm a short mfr.
I was considering the Wild 1, W0502 apes and also the W0508 RK bars.
I'd like your opinions on which of these bars will give the reach I need and also what extras I would need to do the installation.
I've heard that the W0508 would work without extended wiring, cable and brake line but I'm not sure if thats true.

Jon here. man you know your gettin no respect when even he won't comment.....
About your bars, just how vertically challenged are you? I'm 5-7 and also have the mustang seat, but I did swap to the profile lowering shocks as well. I am running the RK chrome high bars and they fit very well and I can even pull em back more if I wanted too. They are pretty much in line with the forks and maybe even a bit forward.
They are an easy swap and require no cable/line changes. About $75~ for the version to fit the new throttle. Might be a good option for you if you didn't want to spend a lot of $$ and have it done in a few hours.
I sat on a bike with heritage bars and for me, the RK high bars are much better ergonomically. I have lots of pics of them on the bike if your interested.
FYI, if you did go with an ape, you'd need at least 12" or you'll be in the same boat your in now with having to pull em back. Believe me I sat on a RK with 12.5 Chubby's and they were borderline, 14's would be perfect. There not as tall as they sound. Good luck!
