There was a thread here a while back about prescription sunglasses. Since I now need prescription glasses and not just reading glasses the thread was of great interest to me. After reading everybodys input I purchased a pair of Liberty Sport sunglasses from Wal-Mart. I have a problem with them. When the sun is in front of me or off to the side when I look through the glasses and the windshield the windshield appears to be fogged up or cloudy. If the sun is behind me or if it is cloudy there is no problem. I can wear my clear prescription glasses or other pairs of sunglasses I have around and there is no problem.
Went back to Wal-Mart and they have no idea why. Offered to make me another pair but I would like to find out the problem first.
Has anybody else had this problem. Thanks in advance for your input.

Are they polarized? The polarization can interact with the windshield and cause various artifacts. If they are, and they will make you another pair, have them make you a NON polarized verison.

I have two pair of Panoptx. One regular sunglasses, they are great. The other is one that changes with the light, can't remember what they called it. It works great, except they fog up if you look at them. Web site says they are fog resistant. But in prescription version they are not, even thought it doesn't say that anywhere on the web. I called, they said that's the way it is. I faxed, told the I wanted my money back, they are useless in the rain, which is why I bought them, I wanted them for overcast rainy days in Oregon. No response.
my new wiley x don't fog but on tinted windows I can see purples and blues. It's definitely funky
This is polarization on the lenses interacting with the other windows. You'll also see mirages of water etc.
Next time try the non polarized version, you'll get non of this. If you use them for boating or other water activities, polarization is what you want, for motorcycles you don't.
Hey soontobe I have a pair of mauijims that I have had for about 3 years and I loved them yea loved them lesson learned. I use to keep them on the dash of my truck not in a case laying on the dash cover. About 6 months ago 1 lens started getting this fog looking spot that kept growing. I took them back to where I bought them and because they were out of waranty maui jim said so sad to bad.KEEP YOURS IN THE CASE.
I also have a pair of panoptics transitionals and I sure like not having to change lenses my wife opted for the wileyx perscription transitional and she loves them. like what was said before you get what you pay for. I also was at Spring Vibrations this past weekend and bought a pair of the new HD glasses from one of the vendors and man are they incredible especially in the bright sun
