Default Thank you

Thank you for this thread. I think about this from time to time, especially when I am riding with my son. I keep those thoughts to myself because I don't want to hear myself speak them. I believe in the idea about my time is up when it is up, but I guess it is just that I don't want it to be today.

Thanks for knowing I am not alone.

Jinks, good point. Each accident should be a wake up call for all of us. Beware, be careful, be safe.

Just use common sense and ride aware and ride safe.

I thought about hanging up the helmet 5 years ago when I was launched down the highway in a collision. I went 225 feet without the bike. It took me a year to get healthy enough to get back on the bike, I will have pain from that one the rest of my life.

Wife has never known me to be without a bike for long, she says I never will be without a bike. We were out on a great ride yesterday..

we are seeing more deaths because their are way more bikes on the road now than it was 10, 15, 20 years ago. i felt that way after my accident last year but i got back on it as you can see and im very happy that i did

yea, get that feeling every so often. Im a career firefighter for 15 years and have been to 1 to many bike wrecks. but what are you gonna do. when i get those feelings, it makes me that much more aware of the cagers around me. Safe riding.

I've been on this forum for a few years and I've learned a lot. Now, if I remember correctly, that strange feeling is nothing more than you need to have your colon cleansed before you go touring.

First time I got hit, a car ran a stop sign hit me right side then I hit another car head on and flew through the air...........dropped my draws in the middle of the street and asked a witness if my jewels were still there....

Wasn't my time and Ive been in a couple more since the 70's............

I have to say though I agree with gut feeling, if it dont feel right don't do it............

I rode all day yesterday with a 70 yr old bud on a tripped out 99 bagger with over a 100,000 miles.........hope thats me someday..

it's all part of the game. the best you can do is to ride safely, and try to avoid situations that put you at risk. hope you get ta feeling good about riding again soon. sorta reminds me now of when tom cruise crashed the plane in top gun and was freaked out cause his back seat flying buddy was killed.

If you don't get on your bike everytime without thinking this could be my last ride, then you could get careless. I always think before I ride about being careful, and keeping the speed reasonable, and assuming that every cager is out to get me. Trust no one.
