09 Street Glide here, for you 09 guys, do ya prefer the 3/4 or 1" soos spacer kit? The 3/4 is out of stock, is that because they are more comfortable? Is the 1" kit mostly for tall riders? Thoughts or opinions please! I know they are good, just trying to decide which one is right for me. 5'9" tall here with corbin dual touring seat.
The 3/4" kit is less likely to make the floorboards scrape on the ground when leaning into turns. That would be why they are out of stock. I don't have a bagger so I can't really say.
I had the 1" on my FLHT (sold the bike...need to get some for my new/old bike) and I am 6'1". Never scraped the floorboards...never had a reason to scrape the boards.
Were talking about 1/4 inch on a floorboard here folks. So unless you are a very aggressive floorboard scraper, it seems to make the most sense to get the 1 in.
On a similar thread, someone posted a pic with them on. Does it make it harder to find the shifter since your foot is out farther? Considering you can't adjust the shifter out...........
I had the 3/4" spacers on my 06 EG Standard.
Always wondered if the 1" might be better.
I figured with the larger 6 Gallon tank , the wider ones would be more comfy.
I only dragged one board once in 13,000 miles with the 06.
Quite happy with the wider set on the 09.
I posted the pictures on the other thread to show what they look like from the top-down to show how big a difference they make.
