Default oil leak advice needed

I have noticed that I am getting some oil on the inside of the left muffler and can't see where it is coming from. While setting it will leave a few drops on the garage floor, marking it's teritory I guess, and wiping under the muffler it will be about at the axle where the drip comes down.

Thanks

If it is not from the primary it is probably the outpit shaft inside the inner primary. big job covered under warranty if the bike still has warranty.

As Mack said, check the primary first by putting a allen wrench to the bolts. Those bolts have a tendency to back off slightly over time and allow a little seepage that may be working it's way back in the wind to your muffler. Use a torque wrench or just snug them up if they're loose and see if that fixes the problem.

Mine did same thing around 1k. I thought output shaft seal, inded up being starter/jackshaft seal. Lean bike on stand and look under from right side, where trans and starter attach.

Took it in to the dealer on Saturday and believed to have tracked it down to the left side shock. We will see.

That is interesting. Would not have thought that would be the source.

When I first got my bike in 2003 one of the shocks started leaking right away. Had to have it replaced under warranty.
