Default Very cool

Thanks for all the info, my buddy that im buying the bike from has some leather lowers. I will try them this time and see if it makes a difference, if they do i will buy the hard ones right away. Whats your guys opinion on having a taller windshield and looking through it as opposed to over it?
Thanks again for the info.

One word FOG, if you look over about an inch and half to two you're golden. I never liked looking though a shield but thats just me I ride the mountains regularly an live and ride though creek bottoms a lot going to work, so fog in the morning's I have to factor in

Default thanks Gilbos

Its wierd thats where i sit with the stock windshield that is on the bike. Im wondering if there is a different reason for the wind i feel on my head, i certainly dont think its the normal wind. Its like being slapped on the side both sides of my head and chin all at the same time. Anybody have this issue and fix it with something. Sorry for all my questions just trying to get as much info so i know what to do to remedy this issue. Thanks again all

It's not wind, it's "dirty" air, aka wind buffeting. A shorter shield will cut out the dirty air and give you more of the real thing (which you may or may not prefer). A taller shield will cut out both, but may not be to your style.

The stock shield was not good at all on my roadglide, the soft lowers made a real difference even with the stocker but I found some used hard lowers cheap and sprung for the 2" over CV about the samr time and never looked back. Just the hard lowers will make a big difference, lots of air comes up from the bottom on road glides!

Cee baileys SERG shield at 6'3 you would want the 15" or 16". Best shield I have every used. And yes it will fit your bike with the gasket.

Default Thanks

Well i went for a good long ride on it today, man did those lowers ever amke a difference. Night and day. I put them on and took the seat off, rode arround that way and it was perfect, except the no seat part:-) I then put the seat back on and it was just as good so it was the lowers that made all the difference. Im buying it tomorow :-)) and gonna get a short windshield for summer and a taller on for touring and fall winter riding.
Thanks again for all you advice it really helped me out.

Has anyone tried the National Cycle screen? Looks promising (although I love my KW 12").

I've tried 4 windshields so far. The first was the stock harley. Really bad buffeting over 50 mph. Next, Klockwerks 12", better than stock harley but still some buffeting over 50/55 mph. Then, Cee Bailey SSC Euro 15". Better than Klockwerks, but still buffeting over 60 mph - liveable for a few hours. Was going to buy a Cee Bailey 18" Euro, but then decided to go the other way. Bought a 5" harley wind deflector. Actually works best for me. Buffeting pretty much gone up to 85 mph. I'm in the wind, but it's pretty clean air. More bugs and stuff, but ok trade off for me. I also wear a full face helmet and can now feel the air coming thru the top vents to help cool me down. I'm also only 5'7 and use a harley reach seat. It's all relative. Some guys get good results from different shields, but the really short shield is the only one that works for me so far. But, I haven't tried the big monster shields yet. I also prefer looking over the shield instead of thru it. My two cents.
