Default Road glide windshield options

Im going to buy a road glide this weekend from a friend. Ive ridin it once and loved it except for the buffeting, which was unbearable. This is the first bike ive ridin with a windshield, i know that they create unclean air which results in buffeting. What im wondering is which windshield is the best option for me in your experience to eliminate this. Im 6-3. Thank you for any advice you can give :-)

I'm guessing you'll get a dozen different opinions on this subject........
The stock shield came off mine in a hurry, as I didn't like the big
window in front of me.

I'll change between a short black 6 inch and a dark smoked 10 inch......
The short one creates more wind behind me,and makes my
wife's eyes water constantly.....and can drown out the stereo.

The 10 inch dark smoked shield is what I mostly keep on....very little buffeting,
and does not distort the tunes while rolling down the hiway.

Of course your mileage may vary........

check out cee baileys, they have some very cool looking windshields that are actually functional. I have a 15 in euro that works well, if I had to do it over I would of gone with the 16 in.

lots of options..... mostly subjective. Cleav view +2 with vent works best for ME... Cee Bailey offeres a wide selection from OEM style, to the SE, to the "euro" styles, then there is Klockworks, and a couple of others as well.

A lot of the "buffering" you're finding might be comin from below... HD, and Hoggchops both make hard lowers, that will rid most of the "dirty air"

Knowing what I know NOW.... I would have put the money in Hogg chopps, before buying, and rejecting all those windshields... but as noted "your miles may vary"

It looks like the clearview has a little bit of a curve at the top of the windshield. Is that correct or is it an illusion?

2" over clearview was the hands down best shield I've had on my Road Glide! Mine had the the vent (not sure I'd get the vent agin) when I installed the hard lowers it was the perfect setup! The clearviews have a bit of a lip or a recurve to them at the top (more noticable on the taller shields for some reason) But I bounce around beween 3 shields I have 2" over CV, stock height CV, and a 15" Euro, ( looking for a dark gray 16" used euro to try) The lowers make a huge difference, the Hogg chops look like they would work a bit better and have better airflow to the engine than the stockers (stock's what I have) Congrats on the Road glide and welcome to the Secret Order Of The Shark

It you look at a clearview check out their blems, instant shipping and they describe them perfectly, mine was supposed to have fine scratches, and as hard as I looked I never saw them!
