LONG LIVE THE ROAD GLIDE
I think the new Road Glide Custom is going to be a hit.
I see more and more Road Glides being customized.
The Road Glide is becoming the latest Bad Boy.
The factory recognized the trend and wants to cash in on it.
They will come out with a full touring RG down the road.
Yeah, I too was looking for more of a touring RG for 2010. How hard was it to upgrade the seat, add the Ultra tour pak w/stereo and IC and maybe pump up the motor? They had the 103" afterall. Instead they slam the suspension and screw up the back end (well, imho). Yes, it's a just the SG with a sharknose...sheesh!
When I bought my '02 Roadglide, HD had a Ultra conversion kit available. Had that installed to make it a Roadglide Ultra. Wonder why they ever got rid of that kit? Oh well, I'm glad I bought my '09 when I did.
Not a touring bike anymore IMO. Don't like the large *** muffler on one side, looks unballanced to me. Black or red you pickem. Not impressed with the new bikes, glad I got an 08.
I really like them. The last few years the Road Glide has evolved into a great machine. New frame, black engine, monochromatic paint, the headlight lens is gone, and lowered. These bikes are finally being made the way the should be.
I think they'll sell well, just too bad they didn't have a few more choices in the paint department.
I noticed that the cruise control is now and option. Before it was standard on a Roadie..... another $285 plus labor to install on a more expensive bike
I think it looks way better. Yes, its a Streetglide with a different fairing. The Streetglide is HD best selling model so I think they breathed some new life into the Road couch. I would expect them to offer a Roadglide Ultra version mid-year or next year. Personally, if they hadn't made the change, the model probably would have died. The only place I ever see them is on the forum. They don't sell well....
