Man,
I am glad that I have my '09 even more after the
new info has come out. I know each has his own
opinion but man does the new Ultras look like a
Yamaha product or what??? I mean the tank badge
and color scheme routing looks like a yama venture
to me. Anyway I was tickled with my 09 before
the unveiling but an absolutely ESTATIC now!!!!!!
What amazes me is that such a simple thing like paint choices, pinstriping and decals etc is something that is relatively easy for MOCO to really excel at and they don't. The finishing touch that could make a bike a sought after cherished ride and they do what? Drab, duh, Blahh... I thought my 09 was a bit drab but next to the 2010 Roadies, mine looks like a champ!
Nothing turnin my head this year except the Burnt Amber combo on the CVO Ultra.
glad you convinced yourself, I would rather have a good fifth gear
Use some "transmission gear fluid" and not engine oil, louder pipes and crank the radio and the noise goes away...Other then the whine (trans & owner), the 5th gear works the same on all models......
Some transmissions must be much louder than others. I talked to a guy the other day that sold his bike and said one of the main reasons was how loud his 5th gear was and refuses to buy another Harley that uses that gear cut. Sure I hear my 5th gear, but its far from annoying, if anything it reminds me what gear I'm in, lol. Maybe my old ears just dont hear it as well as others. I guess that's one good thing about getting old.

I hear you.......Heavier gear oil and some break in miles and it should diminish to hardly nothing....

Maybe I got lucky but on my 09 I don't even notice the 5th gear whine I keep hearing about. Right from day one, there was never a distinguishable difference and my hearing is fine. I've heard a few others say similar, so maybe not all 09s do it.
