Wow, I am sure glad I read this before yanking my fairing off this weekend. I figured an hour to hook up my Hogtunes, and the faining back up. Better plan for a few hours to do it right and make it so I don't have to reopen the fairing more then I have to.

Once again...I great site to use as a reference.

Thanks!

Like I learned from Rollintiger.......before you try to put the out fairng back on, pop the headlight assembly out first by releasing the 3 green tabs in the inside. Now you can see the damn hooks without the headlight in and put the fairing on easily. Once that's back on just push the headlight assembly back on after you align the clips with the green tabs.

I tried for two hour strying to get the thing onto the hooks until I learned this trick. Now it's a piece of cake and I've had it off several times.

what raod glider said. With this knowledge it is a breeze to re install. Took me less than 1 hr to install hog tunes on my RG. And yes it was the 1st time I took the fairing off. Waiting on my euro headlight assembly, bulbs from daniel stern lighting, and my hidden antena...then i will be opening up the fairing again. Then again next winter when I can afforn the spun Alum guages.

Piece of cake when you do it without the headlamp assembly in the way...

Not much more than removing the bags in fact.

Crash...glad to hear you're going with Dan's lighting advice!

yes taking out the headlight makes the reinstall MUCH easier. I tried to help a guy in Daytona last October who was struggling with this at one of the booths, I told him to take out the headlight so he could see the hook, and he looked at me like I had 3 heads and chose to ignore me. I walked by an hour later and he was still dicking around with it, I just laughed.
